Dogs Needing Homes

We are based in the home counties
but we can consider the rest of UK

Holly

Meet Holly, a beautiful 8 year old GSD X female stray whose time was up in the pound.

She was in quite a neglected state when taken into rescue in December with untreated ear infections and skin allergies.
Both conditions have been successfully treated under the guidance of a vet.

Because the infections in her ears went untreated for a long time Holly will need someone who is prepared to monitor, clean and treat them on an ongoing basis for the rest of her life to keep them in a good condition.
This is not arduous but must be done, they are very manageable and do not require any surgical intervention.
She is also on some medication to help with her skin, which will also be required long term.
The rescue will be there to help with all this.

Holly is not a very demanding dog.
She enjoys her walk and walks nicely on the lead but can pull if she sees another furry as she is curious.

She is currently in foster with 9 other resident dogs (a mixture of similar sized dogs, both male and female) and gets on with them all.
It took her a little longer to settle with a couple of the slightly smaller dogs in the household but she has not looked for trouble.
She will chase cats, small furries, chickens and seems to be overly fascinated with small dogs, so best homed with a similar sized dog.

Holly loves a ball and toys but cannot be left alone with them as she will destroy/eat them!
However, she is not possessive over them and she will drop them when commanded.

She is crate trained and will quite happily sleep upside down in it!

Holly likes structure and routine, a little wary of strangers and prefers to ignore them rather than to be fussed over.

In the garden, if left unattended, she will constantly eat grass and will scavenge, whilst she was a stray she was clearly starving and would eat anything, this will settle once she realises food is always available.
She is a lovely, friendly little soul and just wants somewhere she can call home, she deserves cuddles, love, care and attention.
