WILLIAM

William’s story is a sad one; he was taken to the Dog Warden by a man who said
he was a stray. Notices were put up in an effort to find his family and 25 people
came forward to say this man was in fact his owner and thankfully he is now being
prosecuted. William is a big dog and is very underweight, weighing only 33kgs at
the moment, he is in poor condition generally and also had an untreated flea
allergy when he came into rescue but this is now under control, his skin is healing
and the fur growing back. The saddest thing is that William is blind and the owner
didn’t even realise. He has been to see a specialist who has said that he was born
blind and that he has a very rare condition whereby he does not have any optic
nerves. We don’t know how but despite all of this he remains a gentle and loving dog.
He is now living with Jane and Sally and is very good with the resident GSD’S and
Cavalier. He will remain there until the case has been to Court and we will update you
when there is more news
